Discovery & Research for Financial Services
Surface the documents that matter for a brief, an audit, an investigation, or a clinical reference search — with faceted filtering and citations to source spans.
About Discovery & Research
Discovery and Research workflows ask the system to find the right documents and synthesize what they say, with the citations being more important than the synthesis. Citorum's hybrid retrieval pipeline combines dense vector similarity over the embeddings of every document chunk, full-text search via Postgres' built-in indexing, and metadata filtering against tags, dates, jurisdictions, document types, and access-control attributes. Results are scored, deduplicated, and rank-fused into a context window.
The model produces a research summary; the audit log captures every document that contributed, every citation rendered, and the faithfulness score on every claim. The reviewing analyst — paralegal, compliance officer, claims coder, briefer — clicks through to source spans rather than relying on the summary verbatim. The pattern works because the citations are first-class output, not a footnote.
Financial Services context
Financial services organizations operate under Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), Gramm-Leach-Bliley, the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) reporting requirements, and a long list of state and international regulators. Material non-public information (MNPI) handling is the bright line, and most third-party generative AI Application Programming Interfaces sit on the wrong side of it.
Citorum runs inside the institution's environment — a customer-owned Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) on the hyperscaler the firm already uses, or on-premises in the firm's data center — and supports the workflows that benefit most from grounded retrieval: customer-file research with documented access controls, regulatory-filing drafting with citation lineage, internal SOX compliance Q&A across control documentation, and policy and procedure knowledge Q&A across the firm's manuals. Every retrieval, prompt, response, and adjudication score is captured in audit lineage suitable for the compliance and internal audit functions.

Compliance Q&A
Answer policy and control questions with citations to the policy paragraph that grounds the answer; ambiguous responses route to a reviewer queue.
Drafting & Summarization
Produce first drafts grounded in the corpus, with every claim traceable to source spans — particularly strong for compliance memos and regulatory filings.
